I recently found a new site that can help increase traffic to your blog. The way it works is you create a little "calling card" for your blog and place a widget onto your blog that will show other sites "calling cards". You go to as many blogs as possible and Drop your card onto the widget. Then the blog owner will approve (or decline) on whether your blog's card will be shown on their widget. So it's kinda like free advertising.
Cons: Most traffic is "junk traffic"...meaning most people just stop by to drop their cards and leave. (but even though most is junk, some people actually DO read your blog and comment...I know I try to do that when dropping my card)
Pros: You site gets free advertising and you can "buy" contest tickets and other kool things with your entrecard credits earned from dropping cards.

i think that, in the case of entrecard, the cons might outweigh the pros. you're right...mostly junk traffic...pass through-ers. and, i think that most of us are looking for regular readers...especially with the type of blogs that we have...mommy, family etc...but, when you want to pick up advertisers...they only look at how many hits/day, i guess. so, i suppose that the junk traffic is worth something?
